Golfing with Granddad

On Friday we headed down to Fort Worth for a FULL weekend of bachelorette parties, dinners, & my sister's first wedding shower! We started off the weekend by swimming, playing some putt putt, & dinner at outback.  The hotel we stay at has a little putting green in the back and Grandpa & Logan were tearing it up working on their putting skills!

Grandpa teaching Logan to dust his hands off after getting dirty.  We don't like having our hands dirty.

Practicing a little soccer/golf as well.

Grandpa showing Logan the proper way to hold a putter, while working on our patience :).

Logan showing me where he was going to sink the putt...

Hole in ONE!!

Hangin with Uncle Jay after swimming in the pool!

Grandpa & Logan watching cartoons.

The boys... being boys...

To be continued.....

New Backpack

After his first day of MDO 2 weeks ago we realized the need for a backpack. Plus, he is becoming so independent these days he loves carrying his own bag! So, we bit the bullet and got him his first real backpack, monogrammed and all!

It fits him just perfect!! May not hold as much as I would like, but until he gets to Kindergarten this should work perfect!!

So happy about his new backpack! :)

New Happenings & 32 Weeks

Jackson

This Wed. I will 32 weeks along in my pregnancy! Wahoo!
We had an ultrasound today to see our little guy and check on some fluid levels and such! Unfortunately JD was not able to come with me this morning, but I did send him the pictures of our little guy! We hadn't seen him since our 20 week appt-- so much changes from those 2 appts! Jackson didn't want to show his face very much though he was nice and tight up against me and loved putting his little hands in front of his face! Everything looked great though, we have an appt next Monday so we'll find out more details then! :) Heartbeat was 128; little low for him.. normally runs in the 130-140's but he must have just been relaxed!
He was moving and active-- showed his Momma what a big boy he is at breathing and kicking (although I already knew that.) His little face reminds me of Logan's ultrasound! I can't wait to meet this guy!

Well along with getting to see our sweet baby boy or sweet BIG boy has had a lot of changes recently! His Momma was a little bit emotional about all these changes! After dropping him off for MDO for the first time I also spent the night away from my boys for the first time Friday night! I had an absolute blast at our Steering Retreat for MOPS, but my heart was a little heavy that I didn't get to kiss my boys goodnight!
Little did I know though that Logan's Daddy decided it was time he was in a big boy bed as well.  Although I am grateful (he was trying to do me a favor and not put me through the first night), I was sad when I came home to find my little man not in a crib anymore and the crib moved and a big boy bed on his floor.  JD is in the process of building bunk beds for the boys, so that will be his new bed soon, but for now the mattress will do!
Logan is SO excited about his big boy bed.  I really never thought it would happen, but he goes to sleep at night-- ALL night on it and never moves from it and then takes his naps (all 3-4 hours) on it as well. I thought for sure we would be in there sleeping with him or he would be opening his door and coming into our room.  Maybe I don't give my son enough credit-- he is more mature than I thought! All I can say is his Mom & Dad are VERY PROUD of him!!

First nap in his big boy bed. We did go buy him some "boy" sheets-- JD thought these were a little girly and I'm making some covers for pillows to decorate it a little more. He loves it though! Praise the Lord! Also Praise the Lord that I have such a wonderful husband who took on a huge task of moving his son to a big boy bed so this Momma didn't have to worry about it.  We also got a huge start on Jackson's Room & updating Logan's room to a more toddler friendly one!

21 Months & First Day of School!

21 MONTHS
June 16, 2011

Wow.... Not sure where to begin.  Today was our baby's first day of school.. ok really it was Mother's Day Out... but, I am considering it his first day of school! In 21 months the only place Logan has been left is our church nursery for MOPS and church.  Which in total time = about 3 hours max.
Today we woke up, ate breakfast, watched our 30 min. show (Cat in the Hat this morning), watered the veggies & plants, got dressed, packed lunch for school and then headed out! He went from 9:30-2 today and it was pretty much AWESOME for both of us! The beginning was a little rough for both of us, but when I picked him up and he didn't want to leave but kept shouting "Mommy look!" trying to show me all the new toys he got to play with and then pointing to all his new friends my heart melted and I KNEW he had a blast!
Also, he really did have 4 friends that he is familiar with in his class-- PTL! I was unaware that they had a nap time in which they usually sleep on mats (sorry when I laugh at this... my son, sit still on a mat for more than 5 seconds?? sorry teachers this one just won't happen) starting at 11:35.... yeah, I apologize to those sweet, sweet teachers who have Logan, but I am lucky most days if I get him down for a nap at 2.  They said that they put him in a pack n play and he cried--only because he didn't understand what people were doing laying down at 11:35.   I felt terrible for not asking more questions about schedule so I could tell them, but they said he handled it fine and just hung out for that time period.
I on the other hand from 10-12, got groceries and actually had a list and didn't veer from it because my brain was fully functioning and not multi-tasking, went home cleaned out refrigerator, put away groceries, made dinner list for the next week, mopped my floors, wiped my counters, put away laundry, finished dishes, and tidied up the house.  Talk about feeling of accomplishment-- normally all that (to be done completely and well) would have taken me 2 days! I even got to have lunch with one of the sweetest,  most loving ladies I know Ms. Linda. I can't tell you the last time I sat down for a lunch and had such a wonderful spiritually encouraging conversation like that! So thank you Lord for MDO! We will be coming back! :)

New chair...

This weekend as you know we were at JD's sister's house to celebrate our nephews birthday, well because Logan is such a lucky little man, to have SO many people who love him.  They gave him a gift as well so he wouldn't feel left out at the party.

I have to say he slept through the gift openings, which I was a little thankful for, but when he woke up he got to open his own little gift. Such a sweet and thoughtful thing to do.
Here is his gift... mini chair! He LOVES it!! It even has a cup holder!

Looks like all we need is a camping trip planned and we will be set!
Thank you Aunt Jenn, Uncle Tommy, & Grandma & Grandpa Weathers for thinking of little man!
Much love,

Mark Thomas First Birthday

Our little nephew, Mark Thomas turned "1" this past week and we got to celebrate this little man this past weekend! It was SO much fun! The pictures really tell the whole celebration.

Started with A LOT of eating!

Lots of fun swim time!
Logan LOVED these 2 girls!

Lots of fun playing in the pool with Daddy!

Decorations!

We learned how to count to 3 and then jump.

My sister-in-law did an AWESOME job on Mark's cake.  I mean she did fondant and everything!

Mark's smash cake, which was egg-less and so cute too!

Each kiddo got a cute little going home pail with stickers, beach ball, bubbles... all kinds of fun stuff!!
My SIL thought of everything!

"Happy Birthday To MARK!"

Tasting the cake!

He really wanted to eat that candle.

Us at the party (I think this picture hits top 10 worst pics of me, so sorry folks only one we took)...

He really got into it!

Opening presents!

We had so much fun celebrating this little man and we are so thankful for his life!
We love seeing the boys play together and as they get older they just have such sweet personalities! Can't wait to see what the next 100 years holds for the boys!

We love you Mark Thomas, Happy Birthday!!
