Sentosa Weekend Fun

We have taken full advantage of spending time with our new friends here!
One of our favorites to do is on the weekend go to one of our condos and order pizza, grill out, and swim!
This weekend we went to Sentosa Island and visited our friends who live at The Berth.
They have such an awesome view!!
We ordered pizza, had chocolate cake with chips and dip and swam the night away!
It was a blast to say the least!

This sweet boy is such an awesome swimmer!

Haze

I had never heard of "the haze" until last week before it happened.
It is AWFUL!!
PSI (Pollution Standards Idex) started out in the 90's and made it's way in the past 4 days into the 400's. According to the locals this is the worst haze they have ever had.

PSI ValueAir Quality Descriptor
0 - 50Good
51 - 100Moderate
101 - 200Unhealthy
201 - 300Very unhealthy
Above 300Hazardous
The haze comes in from Sumatra, Indonesia. Every year around this time they burn forest and depending on which way the winds blow depends on how bad the haze is. This year the fires got out of control and it was said to be due to Singaporean businesses starting them. Not sure if that was ever confirmed, regardless it was a horrible week and sad because Singapore is so beautiful and the haze really polluted it.

This is what it looked like the first day. Really not too bad.
PSI: 100's

We certainly did not go out much.
It was an inside, struggle to find activities, puzzle, movie, book reading. coloring type of days.
Logan had developed a cough a few days before the haze and it definitely made it worse.

2nd day-- in the 200's PSI

We did some window coloring.
Window crayons... AWESOME.

3rd day: PSI 300's reaching upper 300's by mid morning.
could hardly see the Reflections condos.

Everyone was advised to get N92 masks and where them everywhere especially elderly and children.

We practiced our letters.
This child LOVES to learn. It blows me away!

Wanting to be like big brother.

Learned to write his name.

Us on our morning grocery run.
Can't live without food, unfortunately.

Big boy, did so good wearing his mask.
Can't say that about the other one.. but thankful for the good example!

Going out to dinner that night.
We tried really hard to stay indoors and underground as much as possible.

Mr. Chris and Logan working on his acrobatic skills after dinner on the MRT.

Jackson showing off as well!

Finally on the 5th day we had PSI of 90... guess where we went!
ABSOLUTELY the pool!!!

Thankful for a lift in the haze though.

Henderson Waves with Kimbo

"Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice."
Proverbs 27:9

This is my precious friend Kim, Kimbo as we call her. (Thank you Jenna for sharing your Mom with us!) I treasure her friendship already and it has only been 3 months. We have walked the beginning of Singapore together and made such a sweet connection in such a short time. She arrived a day after we did although we didn't meet until about 2 weeks after that. Our husbands work together and thankfully they had the same goal in mind when choosing a place to live for us. Ocean + Running path +amenities (pool) + Close to transportation & near grocery/mall. This lady keeps us on our toes! BUSY is what some would call her, but because in some ways i am a lot like her I know her JOY stems from that busyness. What a lot of people don't see about her busyness is not all about her, in fact I would be willing to say that 9.9 out of 10 times it has nothing to do with her. She is ALWAYS looking out for the good of others and for the ways she can bless someone each day. This lady has walked a road that I wish no one had to walk, but through that walk she is a LIGHT for Jesus, and most of all she represents HOPE.

I am so thankful for her. I pray the Lord blesses this woman and her family ABUNDANTLY, may their cups OVERFLOW with your joy Lord Jesus.

One of our new favorite walks is Henderson Waves. From our place up there and back is about 5.5 miles. A good little trek, mostly uphill, but oh the beautiful view at the top is worth it. There is the possibility of seeing monkeys as well, although we have been somewhat unlucky with that. We have seen lizards and squirrels though.

These boys adore Kimbo.

I adore these boys!

Such a fun outing!!

Were becoming fish...

"I always thank my God for you and for the gracious gifts he has given you.."
1 Corinthians 1:4

We ended Fathers Day Weekend with our favorite thing to do here in Sing... SWIMMING!

It will be neat to look back on this picture and see who REALLY ends up having the bigger feet! :)

Daddy testing out his new toy an underwater camera we got for him.

Can't forget a snack! All that swimming sure makes a boy hungry!

We sure are thankful for such a loving, leading, providing, and encouraging Daddy! We hope we have honored you this weekend and that you feel like the BEST Daddy in the whole wide world, which is what you are to us!
We love you!!

West Coast Park & Father's Day

To see a Father's love for his children- there is nothing more precious! It is selfless and such a beautiful representation of God's love for us. I am THANKFUL, so THANKFUL for the blessing my husband is to our children (and to me). There is no better Father for them than you my dear! Thank you for all you do for us, thank you for your provision, leadership in our family, love, encouragement, and commitment. To the greatest Daddy!! We love you!

Happy Father's Day to ALL the Father's in our life!!

To my Daddy... the best suggestion giver, hardest worker, best dragon ride giver, one of the most generous people I know... you don't realize how much the statement, "You'll thank me when your older" means until well, your older. Thank you for all you have done for me and continue to do for us and your grandsons! You have no idea how much it is appreciated and how much you are loved! Love you Daddy!

To my Father in law... thank you first off for raising a wonderful son! There is no one he looks up to more than you! My boys are so lucky to have you as a Grandpa & I am so thankful to have you has a Father in law! You have always treated me as part of the family and I am thankful for that! We enjoy EVERY moment we spend with you! Thank you for all that you do for us and the time you take to spend with us!! We love you!

To my Grandpa.... How thankful I am you have gotten to know my partner in life & our children! I enjoy every minute we get to spend with you and am so thankful for all the memories I have with you!

JD's work building...

For Father's Day and because it is the weekend and we are attempting to explore a new place every weekend, we decided to explore West Coast Park. We were able to see JD's office for the first time, yes, I know Wife of the Year award goes to... not me.

The park itself is HUGE, but is wide open with beautiful trees and fields!

Of course as in everywhere in Singapore there was construction across the way..
They had a HUGE playground though!

Jackson testing out the fire truck.

JD & Logan did this enormous climbing apparatus (ha!).. they couldn't go down the slide though because it was too hot!

Can you see them at the top?!?

Logan has such wonderful balance!!

They had an AWESOME zipline as well as you can see..

We then walked forever through these paths!

Finished the day off with Pizza Hut!

Celebrating Daddy sure is FUN!!
Daddy got some new fishing shirts (which will be coming back with friends from U.S.) and a new underwater camera.

We love you babe!
