Backyard Camping

This past weekend we (I use this term loosely, I made it till 11pm after Jackson woke up once and I decided I didn't want to do the up and down thing all night) did our first camping trip!
In the backyard!!
JD & Logan had so much fun putting up the tent together and getting everything we would need all ready and in the tent! Daddy even brought the big tv outside and we got to cuddle up and watch a movie (Kung Fu Panda) before sleeping under the stars! Our neighbors joined us for the outdoor movie and treats! What a blast! The boys lasted all night outside-- and it was COLD! Ok in the 40's but that's cold to me! Logan wore his zip up fleece pjs on top of a set of long underwear pjs and slept like a baby JD said. They both slept in till 730!

So our trial run was a success... we will have to wait to make an out of backyard trip until the weather gets warmer for Jackson.

Logan taking the tour of the tent.

Logan and Tessa watching the movie!

Logan before bed. He was so pumped he got to wear a head lamp outside.

Just the beginning of our adventures!!

Baseball Table

Another Daddy, Super Hubby, Handyman project JD did this past weekend was this table for the boys!
We had a picnic table that my parents bought the boys and it was AWESOME... that is until my pregnant self thought I could sit down with Logan on the plastic picnic table and it would hold me. To say the least the story did not end well... the picnic table is now one sided, we try to compensate by adding a chair to the other side, its just not the same though.

All that to be said we needed a new table, one with all the sitting available.
JD built this table out of wood we had in the garage. We originally planned to schalack the cards onto the table, but ended up using super glue & plexi glass. The baseball cards are the all star players from 2012 and one of which we knew from church. I think it turned out awesome and it was so much fun to make and put together.

I LOVE IT!!

Thank you hubby again for all your hard work.

Sandbox

My sweet handy husband has just been checking off things on this honey-do list left and right!
This past weekend he built the kids a sandbox and a kid table (more on this in another post).

He worked so hard in making it just perfect for the kids and also with multiple purposes. Yes, it is a sandbox underneath, but when you put the lid on it it becomes an extra space to put the kids table for when we eat outside.  As you can see the railing next to the sandbox, on our deck. We are going to open that up so the kids can just walk over to the kids space or step down into the sandbox! We have also gotten to use our AWESOME canopy tent that we got for Christmas from JD's parents! It covers the whole deck and has sides that open up and cover the patio and sandbox for extra shade!
So nice to finally be able to bring Jackson out and not worry about either of the boys getting sunburned!

So thank you Daddy, Super hubby, handyman that we so LOVE!
We have played in the sandbox at least once everyday since we have had it! The boys, even Jackson (who only at the sand once and has yet to do it again) LOVES it!!

The boys playing in the sandbox..
Next on to do list bug spray/repellent....

Sandbox with the lid off.

Jackson just loving it!

Logan loving it with his dump truck of course!

Logan has been SO sweet this week in sharing with his brother.
We have been reading books about sharing and talking about how God commands us to be kind to one another and love each other.

Gotta love that gummy smile!

Our little set up...
We do have the dogs... which is why our grass looks like it does.. hopefully it will grow in well this summer?!

Our whole set up. Can't wait to spend time out here this summer!

Hello Spring!

We are taking full advantage of ALL the great weather we are having lately!
Hello Springtime!!

The boys, JD, & I played outside afternoon before dinner.  Logan was eager to give Jackson a wagon ride so he could "play" with his brother. Quickly after this "play" started Daddy had to step in, obviously Logan thought that this wagon ride was equivalent to NASCAR.
Only problem no protective gear was worn and I highly doubt that the one strap buckle would pass for secure passenger seating in NASCAR.

The boys had so much fun though, Jackson just LOVES to laugh at Logan and Logan LOVES making Jackson laugh.

Helping Daddy pull Jackson...
Notice Jackson holding on..

Too fast for a picture....

Daddy giving instructions:
Now Logan our goal is not to crash and burn or throw brother out on a wild turn.
Notice Jackson's face.. I like these rules & Logan disappointed.

Love this picture...

My little speed racer!

I look forward to the days of seeing Logan & Jackson running beside each other racing everywhere they go. Thank you Lord for precious boys. Never would I have thought that bruises= a healthy active child, wrestling= a love language, tooting= a normal sound, fast= my  normal pace, poop= normal daily conversation topic, trucks/trains= would be the main toys in our house, and that I would be the shortest one in my household.
On the other side of it all, never have I known a sweeter, more rewarding thing than having sons.

Thankful for them,

Much love,
Weathers

ch ch ch changes

We have 2 BIG BOYS now in this car!

Fisherman Logan & Family Day @ the ROC

Logan was quite the fisherman this weekend!!!
For our first Sunday School Class Event (since we have been in the class) we had a Family Day at the ROC.  It was AWESOME!! Everyone brought food, we set up a tent and grill, there were chairs, fishing, football games, ultimate frisbie, chatting, walking, bike riding, and running!! It was a beautiful-- slightly windy, warm day!! Can't wait for more of these.

Logan caught 4 fish ALL ON HIS OWN! We are all so proud of him and how responsible and trustworthy he was with his fishing pole and being independent with it!
I am not going to say that I was not concerned about our big boys safety with a sharp hook swinging around as he stood on the edge of a pond, cast and helped his Dad bait his hook.  I was TERRIFIED. As my sweet confident husband tells me, "If he hooks himself we'll just pull it out..."  --the look on my face was less than thrilled about that.
My response, let's not please.

With all my worries about him, I have never been so proud of him.  He stayed away from the water right where we told him his boundaries were, he cast all by himself, he reeled it in all by himself, and then if nothing was on it cast it right back out again.

When his bobber went under he set his hook and reeled it in SO proudly!! While yelling here fishy fishy.

Logan with his FIRST fish caught all by himself!

Watching Dad take it off the hook!

Logan's fish!! So Proud!!

His brother really REALLY wanted to get out there and fish with him...

Throwing his fish back in the water.

And back to fishing again.

His 2nd fish!! BIG fish!

Logan and the other J.D.--
J.D. was so nice and fished with Logan for a while.  Logan followed him wherever he went, I'm pretty sure Mr. J.D. has a new best friend!

The little ones!

Little ultimate Frisbee going on...

JD and I got to play a little bit, let me tell you when we rolled out of bed this morning.
OUCH!
We have both been working out lately too!

All in all, an absolutely wonderful afternoon with new friends!
More family days to come for sure!

Fort Worth Zoo

This past Tuesday the boys and I took a trip to Fort Worth to see Emme, Aunt Catie, & Andrew.
We also got to go to the zoo!!
It was an absolute blast... a little crowded, not the best idea by me to go to the Fort Worth Zoo during Spring Break, but we still enjoyed every minute of it and I know the boys just enjoyed spending time with Emme as well.

Logan & Emme looking at the gorillas.

Logan and some animals.

Logan and the flamingos.
It was also VERY HUMID and warm that day.

Emme & Jackson

They had a tower that would spray water into the middle of an open area and Logan just L.O.V.E.D. splashing around and running through it.
It was a nice cool down too.
I thought about doing it myself actually...

Logan running and screaming.. haha!

Logan and I watching the otters and checking out this awesome alligator.

Had to check out those huge, sharp teeth

We can't wait to go back again... on a much less crowded day!
I think we only did half the zoo too!!
Some of Logans favorites were the sharks, kangaroos, fish, and otters.

After the zoo we got to go see my sister's new apartment and have dinner with the family! It was a wonderful and much needed day away! Wish Papa and JD would have been with us, but just means we need another trip!

Much love,
