Easter Morning-- new tradition

This Easter was pretty special for us, not having family in Tyler we have somewhat adopted our neighbor as our holiday family when ours are so far away. We have been blessed to have the Stockhammers living across the street for 4 years now and loved every minute of it! We had such a wonderful Easter morning breakfast!
The Stockhammers provided breakfast and we fellowshipped and enjoyed the morning together! Each of the kiddo got a movie and other little accessories and it was just a blessing to be with such wonderful people!

Kiddos and their crazy straws enjoying their juice...
Jackson had to pass on this one..

A new tradition we started was Eierbecken.
It's an Austrian (Christoph is from Austria and has shared many traditions and things he did back home) tradition where with the Easter eggs you dye you pick one and then challenge individuals with it.  You knock the top of your eggs together and whoever's egg does not crack gets to continue on and challenge the next person.  Tessa chose the egg of all eggs and was the CHAMPION!

As you can imagine this was extremely fun for the kiddos!

Mr. JD getting beat by Tessa.

Then on to the Easter egg hunt!
We may have gone overboard on the egg filling... it was just too much fun and the kids enjoyed it!

Pj's and rainboots.. the ultimate egg hunting attire.
Tessa would carry her basket on her shoulder and when bending down to pick up another egg she would empty her basket and then get excited about all the new found eggs by her. Ha!

The loot!

Opening each egg to see what they got!

Next year I think we may have to do empty Easter eggs, we went to an easter egg hunt later this day and there was nothing in the eggs that Logan found and he exclaimed, "MOM THE EGGS ARE EMPTY!!! THERE IS NOTHING IN THEM!!" Oh my.

Happy Easter 2012!
He is RISEN!

Much Love,
The Weathers
