Thanksgiving with Emme & Papa

From Tuesday-Sunday we spent time at The Bulger's side of the family!
We enjoyed GREAT food, football & more importantly some relaxing time with family!

Mom always has the prettiest Fall table decorations!
Thanksgiving is usually a big holiday for the Bulger's, normally all my parents siblings and their families come to my parents house for Thanksgiving every year, but this year we decided to keep it small! I'm pretty sure Mom is all set for everyone to come back though this next year! It's just too much fun with a house full of people, especially people that you only get to see that time of the year!

I did put a little touch on Mom's decor this year though.  I made these oreo turkey's (yes, from Pintrest) to put on the plates.  I think they turned out adorable!! Such a fun little project!
By the way, in case anyone was wondering no one sells candy corn after Halloween--- yes I may be the only one that thought that, but I was quite surprised when I couldn't find it.

Everyone at our Thanksgiving meal.

He was so proud of his finds!

Papa always knows just the toy for Logan... a Duck call-- yep, I'm pretty sure he regretted that decision after about an hour of duck calls... or maybe that was just me.

We did some coloring with Lola

Papa & JD started a fishing game...
Logan casted over the line with a clothes pin on it..

Papa baited it...

Logan got excited about his worm fish he caught...

Making faces back at the lure...

So blessed by my family!
Love my boys!

Although the Hogs didn't win, we had a FABULOUS time!!
Thank you Emme & Papa for treating us to a wonderful Thanksgiving feast and spoiling us rotten while we were there!
We love you!

Thanksgiving with Grandma & Grandpa Weathers

We were SO blessed this Thanksgiving season to be able to take a FULL week off of everything and head to Arkansas to be with family! Our holiday routine usually leads us to just spending the holidays with one of our families, so this was a wonderful treat to be able to split the time and it be more than one day!
Jackson, Ma-Bo, & Logan

We spent the first half of the week, Friday-Tuesday at JD's parents house or Grandma & Grandpa Weathers house. The kids L.O.V.E it out there, as well as the dogs! They have some land behind their house and they live in the country so we can run and play and let Logan run and play not having to worry about a street or cars! The only difference between Arkansas and Texas--- chilly weather! Not that we minded, just not used to it!

Grandma & Jackson hanging out with Ma-Bo

Jackson was having a staring contest with the puppy dog.

Sweet, sweet boy!

We also took advantage of having the Grandparents around and they kept the kids overnight while JD and I went shopping, out to dinner, and then got to stay at a hotel! First time in over 2 years we have done that. Best.Night.Sleep.Ever. I was worried about leaving Jackson since I'm nursing and he doesn't sleep through the night yet, but Grandma had control of the situation and put my mind right at ease!
We are so thankful for that night out!

Logan also got to enjoy some 4-wheeler riding on Grandpa's new ride!
I think he was a fan.

One evening we took the kids up to the square downtown where they have lights, music, pony rides, and camel rides?!?!
Of course we had to do this!!
Logan and I took the plunge!
Our helmets were Santa hats..

I thought Logan would be really scared and not want to do it.. but he LOVED It!

We had so much fun spending this couple of days with the Weather's side!
It all ends so quickly!
Looking forward to Christmas and being together again though!

We have so much to be thankful for and we praise the Lord for such a wonderful and supportive family!

Potty Training Complete!

Our 3 day potty training extravaganza has come to a complete!

Logan did so wonderful, with only 2 accidents the first day and stayed dry at naptime & bedtime (with a pull-up) we decided on Day 2 to try the going to school thing. I know it was a far reach and I know we were suppose to stay home 3 days in a row, but I really just felt like he understood and got it.
Day 2:
Logan stayed dry all morning long, then went to school and stayed dry and went to the potty twice while there, then stayed dry at nap and all afternoon! I am SO proud of this kiddo!!

Day 3:
Logan did awesome again, we did however have one accident this morning, but we talked about it and he was able to verbalize what he did and what we do to correct it. He cleaned up the mess himself and then told me that next time he is to tell Mommy when he needs to go potty and then go to the bathroom. I am AMAZED at how wonderful of a job that Logan did in those 3 days! Not that candy hasn't been a big factor as well, for all his successes he got to choose from his Halloween bucket.  Nothing like a little incentive.

Since the 3 day potty training we have been on vacation, on playdates, and around town and he has done outstanding.  Don't let me fool you folks, we have had our fair share of accidents, but positive reinforcement has been a helped and being consistent about asking as well. He has gotten rid of the pull up at nap time and is able to keep dry throughout that, but we have kept the pull-up at night although he wakes us up once during the night usually to go potty.  It's all or nothing with this kiddo.  He wont allow himself to wet his pull up-- After going a month with 4 accidents we let him go to Barnes N Noble and pick out a book... smart kid picked out a set of books (of course Cars) and a coloring book (of course Thomas the train).  If you would have asked me 2 months ago if Logan would be potty trained at 25months, I would have told you NO WAY... I would have been ok with 3 years old and potty trained, but I'm thankful I didn't wait and was encouraged to recognize his readiness to do it!

Next on the list... Paci.

Don't ask me if I'm ready for this one...

Much love,

Potty Training... In Session

Potty Training Day 1:

Well we have taken the plunge into the potty training world!
Logan has shown interest for a while we just have yet to find a time where we are home for 3 consecutive days without anything planned!
Well, we finally found a week!
Day 1:
Morning: No clothes
As you can see we ended up with no pants... cute booty :)
Socks & Shirt on...It was a little chilly
No Accidents in the morning
We were though going to the potty every 15 minutes.
Whew!!
Logan got the concept though and was able to verbalize where we go potty, what do we do when we need to go tee-tee or poop.
He loved getting a prize every time too..

As you can see, he put one of his prizes to good use in the potty.
Maybe something to aim at?
No worries, I didn't let him tee-tee on them and the toilet was clean.

We placed his little potty in the breakfast area on a towel and then he had the choices of  Mommy & Daddy's bathroom, Guest Bathroom, or little potty. So we had multiple options all accessible at any time.

He did so wonderful though!
Day 1: 2 accidents (one of which was my fault I forgot to ask if he had to go, let him go almost 30 minutes while he was playing).  LOTS OF SUCCESS!!

When he did have his accidents I made him clean them up, not in a harsh bad way.  We just had a discussion about what happened, (you were playing we forgot to potty, what do we do when we need to potty, remember we need to keep thomas dry) and then the importance of cleaning up the accident.
After those 2 accidents, no accidents the rest of the day!
Even stayed dry at nap time, which we did use a pull-up; just for safe measure!

On to Day 2!

Much love,
The Weathers

3 Months

As you know we always have some outtakes...

The boys this morning while I showered...
I promise Logan had breakfast before his sucker.
Plus it was a potty training prize.

All that picture taking and Bumbo sitting really wears a boy out!

Of course big brother needed his picture..
Scene goes as follows...
L: "My turn sit..."
M: "Ok."
Logan gets in Bumbo
L: "Mommy picture please, Cheeeeeese."
Picture is taken.
L: "Ok, brothers turn...."
Logan tries to get out...
L: "Mommy, I -tuck (stuck)... "
