Molly & Logan

Finally caught up!!

Today I watched a friend of mine's little girl, Molly.  I used to watch this girl A LOT when she was really little and she has grown up so fast!!
We decided to go on a walk this morning-- get the stink blown off us and help Jackson to make his entrance a little quicker! It was so much fun though.. both the kids wanted to wear their sunglasses and say cheese! :)

We played hard too... even in our hard hats! :)

Big 2-8

July 26, 2011

I turned the BIG 2-8! WOW! Birthdays just get better and better :)
I was so blessed this year, as I am every year so this was no surprise!!
I think my husband, family, & friends know me TOO well! :)

My day started off by getting to sleep in-- 745a-- hey, these days that's pretty good! I was thankful for my little man to have slept in just a little bit! We then hit up Jumpin Jacks for him and then he took an awesome nap where Anna and I got to chat and I got to sew a little bit!
I was spoiled by SO many people with sweet messages and phone calls!
2 of the sweetest people I know went over and beyond showering me with some little gifts as well!

Thank you Kathryn!!
Yes, she brought a whole cake with numbers and the best thing a HUGE diet coke...

Thank you Tara!!!
Oh yes, new workout clothes!! She knows how ready I am to be back in shape!! Wahoo!! and then some oreos to counteract that get back in shape thing.. haha! :)

My sweet and precious husband brought me flowers with the sweetest card and took us all (Anna, Logan, and I) out to dinner at Chuys! Logan ate the most I have seen him eat in I can't tell you how long and was entertained the whole time.  We even had adult conversation without being interrupted! It was THE BEST dinner ever!! Also, the fact that I got Mexican food.... a little addicted right now... was FANTASTIC!!!
Thank you hubs for treating me to such a fantastic evening!

JD has these shotgun lighters... he was extremely excited to use it so I had to take a picture!

Me blowing out my candles.
I was not allowed to eat my cake until I blew out candles and made a wish.. haha!!

Thank you for such a wonderful birthday!!

Much love,
Mar

ANNA

"Nana" as Logan calls her now, is one of our precious college friends that we are so thankful to have!! She is a teacher in Thailand right now and has been there for over a year and will be there for another year.  She had the opportunity to come back to the states for 6 weeks to visit and she included us in her plans!! How blessed we feel to have gotten to spend 3 days with her!
I loved hearing all her stories and about how much she enjoys and loves what she does over there! Those kiddos are so lucky to have such a wonderful and dedicated teacher as her!

As you can tell Logan just adores her & she is such a sweet lady to want to spend time with us and our son!

One night JD was putting Logan to bed and I looked in the monitor just to take a peek and I couldn't help but take a picture of this sweet time! I love these 2 boys more than anything and I know Logan just adores his Daddy!

Anna got to experience life with a toddler this week and with that we went to Jumping Jacks-- a bounce house place for Logan to expend some energy! Anna helped me out in chasing him, last time I got stuck between 2 bounce houses... that's what I get for being SO big and trying to think I was so small! Ha!

Logan ended up having some buddies, one of his favorites Will, there that day which made it even more fun!

Logan conquering the big wall... He is SO brave!!

We also got Logan some new shades this weekend! His eyes are super sensitive to the light and so we decided it was worth getting him some shades!
Look out Ray Charles...

I asked him how he wears his glasses when they are not on his face...
I guess he does that face too when he doesn't wear them on his face!

We LOVE you Anna!!!
Can't wait to see you again soon!!!

Jackson's Bedding-- 1st Bedding Project!

While my Mom was here she talked me into making Jackson's bedding.  I was set on just buying possibly some breathable bumpers and getting red sheets and calling it a day.  Putting some pictures on the wall and decorating his room up that way, I didn't have the time or the energy to try and figure out what I wanted to do.
Well, THANK YOU MOM for convincing me Jackson needed a special room just for him! I am SO thankful and glad that we did this and even more excited about our little man using it! Mom and I found these train sheets, in blue and white, at Marshalls and based the room decor off of that.  We also found some navy and white striped sheets and incorporated those as well! Mom helped me make the quilt, which we took the pillow shams from the guest bed and used those as the back of the quilt and then cut the sheets into 9x9 squares and sewed them together.  I have to say I wasn't sure how this would turn out... but it's beautiful!! Mom helped me cut out all the material for the bumpers and JD helped me assemble it.  How I LOVE having an engineer for a husband! I even sewed piping into the top of the bumper to add some detail... For all my crafty friends out there this is probably a VERY simple project, but I'm pretty impressed that I got it all figured out! :) I absolutely LOVE it all though!!

Along with the bedding we are moving Logans dresser into Jackson's room and we have refurnished a dresser we had of JD's.  We are FULL of projects lately!! Must be this nesting phase I'm in, ha!!

Finished product pictures to come!

We have been blessed with SO many wonderful gifts for Jackson!
This diaper wreath for the hospital door was made by our friend Jennifer.  It's so adorable and the blue circle at the bottom is for his footprint!

This is most of the things Jackson has gotten! Most all of them are homemade!! Such crafty friends we have!!

Thank you everyone and especially Mom & JD for making Jackson's room SO special!!

Emme & Lola

So, I really hate when I do this to myself and don't update for a while and then all of a sudden have LOTS of pictures and update all at once! Sorry folks...

Last week my Mom came to help me out! Not that anything is wrong, but JD was gone 2 weeks to Houston and so 36 weeks along in pregnancy with a toddler by yourself, makes for a very L O N G 2 weeks! So thank you Mom for coming to keep us company and for everything you did while you were here!! I realized after starting this post that my Mom has all the pictures from when she was here! We had such a wonderful time! We went to the zoo, colored on the new BIG CARS coloring book, played outside, watched movies, I got to go to dinner with some wonderful friends, we shopped, made Jackson's bedding, a quilt, curtains, and she even brought her dog Lola with her, who Logan absolutely adores!

As you can see Lola didn't go to far from Logan, especially when he was having a snack or eating!

Sweet boy eating a snack!

During the week Logan got a little surprise in the mail as did I for my birthday!
Thank you Grandma Weathers for the Cars stickers... made one little man's day brighter for sure!

Really cheesin' it up...

Just another fun Saturday!

After we got home from picking blueberries and having lunch the kiddos took a nap, as well as some of the adults ;) After getting some rest we headed back outside for some swimming/water fun!

Tessa came back over and the kids just had a blast... as always.

They even found a seat together! :)

These too are so fun to watch!

Poor Tessa getting smushed by her friend.

Too funny! Logan decided to put Lora's shoes on and walk around! Ha!!

After swimming and before Megan had to leave, Logan got to have a little Megan time!!
Which we all love!!

This is that YUMMY dessert that our wonderful neighbor, who is a chef, whipped up for us!!
It's a homeade crepe with ice cream inside, chocolate sauce on top with whipped cream & blueberries.... ummm HEAVEN!!!!
The kids pretty much just loved the whipped cream, blueberries, & ice cream... but I enjoyed everything! ha!

Much love,
