Changi Navy Base

We decided to go to church Saturday night and explore the Changi Naval Base Open House on Sunday Morning. Big guns, big machinery, and you can get on and shoot the guns... of course the boys needed to go to this!
Although our adventure did not start out the best-- Logan got sick in the taxi-- I had to trash a sweater-- and  our taxi driver ended up not knowing where to go= 30 extra minutes in a cab with a upset tummy on our sweet boy! The taxi driver was very kind though, he didn't drop of us on the side of the street after we threw up in his car. He simply handed us a bag and luckily I decided to bring a sweater this morning (thank you Lord for preparing us) and then offered us something in a small glass bottle. It looked like an aroma thing to help with his queasy stomach, but we passed on it.

We got to the Changi Expo Center and the line was... I have no words to describe how long this Q was. As one man said in line, "This is the longest Q I have seen in 40 years." I'm not sure it's the biggest, but it was pretty long. It was steady moving though and we were hardly at a stand still the whole time. We got our exercise for the day that's for sure.

Mr. Cool with Mommy's sunglasses waiting in the Q line.
J just outgrew his sunglasses. Next on our find list.

Eating some crackers we bought for brother in the Q.
We still get lots of people that come up and ask if they can take pictures with this little guy.
Celebrity already.

In the Expo Center-- continuing in the Q to the bus.

All the people in front of us.
This is after an hour and a half in the Q.

Finally on the bus!! Yay!!
Jackson and I on the way to the Changi Naval Base.
Thankfully the buses were very nice and air conditioned!

As we walked in they had all kinds of photo opprotunities!
Most of them were black and it was SOOO hot out that it was almost impossible for us to take the kids on them or around them to get a picture.

JD & Logan with some of the officers.

The boats.
They had boats that were giving rides, but it was at random selection.
You gave your phone number when you entered and they would text you if you were selected for a ride.
The kids were too young to do it this time. Maybe another time!

Boys checking out the BIG boats!
They were in heaven!

You want to see 3 excited boys... take them to a Navy Base.

Logan and one of his favorite pieces of transportation.

UAV.

Family Photo Op.

The boys just thought this was the coolest boat. You were able to drive right through it.

Needed to cool off for a bit.
2 popsicles and one ice cream.
Side note: I found the one ice cream I will never eat again.
I could only eat one bite... if you know me---- unheard of.
Durian is the national fruit of Singapore-- also the stinkiest and worst tasting as ice cream.
Not meaning to offend anyone; just my opinion. Ek.
Luckily the boys shared their treats with their Mom.

Logan & Dad in front of one of the US ships that was there.

Logan on the shuttle to the end of the pier!

Jackson cheesing so hard his eyes were closed! :)

First boat we toured.
Satpura-- India boat.

Logan and Daddy on the front.

JD armed and ready for battle.

Logan inside the boat...
He loved seeing all the workings of the inside.

Boo for a fuzzy picture, but it was so cute!

Right this way please... Don't you think they should make me into a cardboard.. much more friendly looking.

This marine was SO nice.
He brought the boys extra water and wanted a picture with Jackson.

View of Singapore from Changi.

Logan & Dad on board another boat.

Aboard the USS Freedom.
All the American soldiers were so much taller than most of the people.

A sense of pride filled us as we saw the US ship and US soldiers. Not because they are any better than the other boats and soldiers out there, but we know the history behind these soldiers and are proud of all they have done for us.

After touring the boats Jackson had fallen asleep and we headed back to the buses.
We road the MRT all the way home, stopped and got lunch/dinner on the way home and finally got to sit down about 345pm. What an adventure though!
We ended the night swimming with some of our favorite people here- Bedsoles and all went to bed early! :)

Much love.
