We ALL slept in; well considering Jackson ended up sleeping with us last night we all needed a little bit extra sleep!
We have an exciting day ahead!!
Excited much?!
Before we left to go on our Elephant adventure we caught the beautiful ladies who welcomed us and snapped a quick picture!
Killing some time before we left we fed the fish as well.
Not sure how often these fish get fed, but they were definitely hungry.
In the shuttle on the way to Nirwana Resort for the Elephant Show & Ride.
We rode in the shuttle with a sweet couple from Britain. They were expats as well working in New Zealand for the last 4 years and about to have their first baby in September. We enjoyed getting to know them on our elephant adventure as well. They also go to enjoy our crazy car ride!
JD & Jackson at the beginning of the show.
The ladies did a traditional wedding celebration dance in which elephants are a part of.
Entrance of the elephants-
Side note: I did NOT realize how hairy elephants were.
Jackson focused...
One elephant came and raised the flag.
I volunteered for the show; this is the only picture JD got, but the elephant came and put the hoop around my head. Did I mention elephants are HUGE.
Dancing elephants.
This elephant dunked the basketball into the goal.
Pretty awesome.
SCORE!
Logan and JD participated in a game as well.
They had metal numbers lined up on a pole and Logan picked a number and the elephant listened to the number, picked it out and brought it to Logan.
Elephant sit.
Elephant show off.
Logan and JD also played a game of soccer with the elephants.
See video below.
JD said the guy asked him, "Your going to protect your son right?!" Meaning these animals POUND the soccer ball at you.
Weathers & the elephants!
Logan & JD with their 30 year old elephant "Bunny"-- yes it is a boy named Bunny.
Elephant Ride.
Logan did so awesome riding the elephant on the front.
I guarantee he at the most comfortable seat in the house.
J and I on our 25 year old elephant- "Emma"
Emma really like to eat and did so throughout our whole ride.
J did well on the ride but was ready for it to end. He did enjoy being on the front though, even though Mom was freaking out just a little.
Above picture-- I look awkward... it was VERY uncomfortable.
Next up.. Next to the elephants they had Yellow Python from China.
You cant see the one in the glass behind me, but let me tell you it was 2x bigger than the one I am holding in this picture.
This snake was so easy going.
Side note again: NOT A SNAKE PERSON.
I want me children not to think snakes are nice like this... but this was a good snake.
JD so proud carrying the snake!
J just wanted to shoot some hoops with the elephant.
We did have a long, serious discussion that we will not have a pet snake.
We then got to feed the elephants.
Logan sat on the elephants leg and fed him bananas.
Logan just LOVED this!!
Logan would talk so sweet to the elephant while feeding him...
"Here you go elephant, now chew it up good"
"I'm coming with more bananas"
J was a little more apprehensive.
He just threw the banana's on the ground.
That poor elephant had to work for his food.
Daddy made it all better though.
Daddy & Logan in front of Bunny.
J & I with Emma.
What a fantastic excursion!!
We had SO much fun!!
Great start to this family vacation! :)
