Night Safari

One of the things Logan has been wanting to do since we arrived in Singapore is the Night Safari at the Zoo.
We finally broke down got the tickets, invited some friends and decided to go!
We went with the Bedsoles & Coynes.
The men both work with JD and the ladies are precious!

Mrs. Kimbo (as the boys call her; yes we have grown attached to this sweet lady) rode in the taxi with us to the Zoo and our guys and the Coynes met us there.
These two boys were so excited.
Logan had his head lamp on and ready for anything he might see tonight!

As we got there our taxi driver took us to the entrance of the Zoo and not the Night Safari so we walked over to the Night Safari and caught the Thumbuakar Performance. This was a group of men who had torches and were "spitting fire" as Logan called it.

It was pretty neat and a fun start to the adventure.

Jackson and Mr. Chris watching the show.
This little boy just loves this guy!

Jackson would just ooooh and ahhh at the guys with the fire.
He has such a focused look.

Logan & Daddy watching a little ways away.

I didn't take any pictures during the rest of the night.
You couldn't use flash photography and it was hard to stop and take a picture at each thing.
We went and saw the Creatures of the Night show which was so neat!
The trainers had some of the nocturnal animals come out all around us. One climbed down a vine that they lowered in front of us. Some ran across the stage, a wolf and hyena climbed up onto a rock in front of us. They had some otters that came out and did a recycling show. Quite talented actually. One otter came out and picked up the plastic cups and put them in the right container, another the paper cups and put it in the right container and then the last otter; the veteran otter came out and picked up the glass and pretty much slam dunked it into the right container. At one part of the show all the trainers were "worried" looking for a missing animal- part of the show- and they asked some of the people got up from the front seats and they had been sitting on a boa constrictor. Ugh YIKES!

After the show we got on the "Zebra Train" as Logan called it (it was a train that had Zebra stripes on it) and it took us around the park with a tour guide.
I must say with the cool weather, the noise and motion of the train and the commentator's voice I was nearly asleep by the end. Ha!
We ended the night safari with the Wallaby trail. We got to walk right next to some wallaby's, go through some dark caves that had bats flying through them (I still have nightmares), and see some pretty awesome snakes that the boys loved!
Jackson and Logan's attention span for both the show and the train ride was FABULOUS. They both enjoyed it so much!

When we got home that night they both got their second winds as well!

The Coyne's that went with us, Mike is JD's boss here and Evelyn, Mike's wife put together little gift bags for the boys on the night safari. It was absolutely the sweetest thing!
It had these elephants that when you pulled a string they would go racing along the floor, coloring books with twist up crayons, snacks galore, stickers, race cars & a truck, tiger hats, and a sweet personalized bag to go with it!

We thoroughly enjoyed this adventure and especially the people we got to share it with!
