Botanic Gardens & Dempsey Hill

Today we hit up the Botanic Gardens!
When JD came for business in March he came with his co-workers and said it was a must do.
I cannot wait to get my jogging stroller and come run this place it was SO beautiful!
I can see us coming, running a few miles, picnicking watching the birds... avoiding the monitor lizards! :)

Papa, boys, & I starting the gardens.
It was quite HOTT today!

Had a very pretty pond with swans and fish and lots of ample shade which was a blessing!

The pretty swans staying cool in the shade.

Emme, Papa & their boys with the swans.

Then we ran into these.... I wish I could say handsome fellows; Monitors, but I just don't feel that way about them.
They are quite big or at least bigger than any lizard I care to meet.

Dad, the boys and I.
I think I was capturing the Monitor picture.

And a rare creature to see around here... squirrel. Ha!

Some of the beautiful flowers we saw in the garden!

Waterfall...

Emme & Logan in front of another waterfall.
At this point Jackson had fallen asleep in the stroller.

Papa and Logan.

Logan and these awesome lillypads.

Big boy and I.

LJ and I .

Don't know if you can see it but there is a large mosquito on this flower.
It is Dengue Fever season here right now so we are trying to avoid all those yucky mosquitoes!

Such a cool looking tree.

Papa and the boys.

The Healing Garden.
They had plants labeled for each area of the body that help.
This was my favorite area.

Emme in front of the Healing Gardens.

Love this plant.

How Logan decided to keep cool! :)

So we could revert back to the map we took a picture! This place is huge!

So thankful we get to enjoy our new home with them!

Emme & Logan.

After sweating our tail off through the Botanic Garden we decided to catch a cab and head to another Dad list place.. Dempsey Hill.
It was a little confusing on how this place was set up so we tried the first place we saw which was a Mexican Restaurant. Might have been our biggest mistake.
Singapore you are efficient in MANY things, but might want to leave the Mexican food to someone else!

It was an extremely fun day to say the least!
Love all this exploring! :)

The Art of the Brick...

After church on Sunday we decided to head downtown Singapore.
Logan was stoked he got to ride on the double decker bus and sit at the front.
Almost like he was driving it.

When we got downtown we hit up the ArtScience Museum.
It was showcasing The Art of the Brick-- Legos!

Papa and his boys outside of the Museum.

Emme & Logan.
On the lower level below the Art of the Brick was a showcase of Mummies.
We bypassed that one.

This tells about the creator of this showcase: Nathan Sawaya
More info about this:

Here are some of the 52 sculptures featured:

All of these are made out of Legos.

Had to do it.

They had some fun prop things for the kids to do.

Picture itself and the frame all Legos.
It was awesome.

They had an Iphone that turned the picture into Lego's.

The Pantheon.
On each of the description blocks it told how many Legos it took to build.
Any guesses on how many this one took?

10,000

The world out of Lego's!
Our side of the world now.

They had some magnadoodles where you could create your own art work.

My engineers at work.

AWESOME!
This whole Dinosaur skeleton out of Legos.
This was the boys favorite by far!

Place where they had puppets behind it for a puppet show.

A model of the ArtScience Museum.

At the end they had an activitiy for the kids.
They boys got to create their own person, color, cut it out and glued it to a stick for a puppet.

Reflexology with Legos...

After leaving the ArtScience Museum we headed out to see some more sites.
On the Helix bridge. At night the whole bridge lights up blue.
Can't wait to see that!

View of part of downtown and the ArtScience Museum.

Emme & Logan on the Helix bridge.

Mom & Logan on bridge with city scape view on the background.

Ready to go!
Too bad it was just a prop! :)

Singapore Flyer
World's largest Observation Wheel.
We did not go on this, but it was neat to see!

Across from the Singapore Flyer is the Gardens by the Bay.
That's one for another day!

We hit up the ice cream stand after that!
In Singapore they are famous for putting a block of ice cream between to wafers.
It really is delicious and only $2.
It really is true, the cheaper and longer the line in Singapore it is the BEST!

Emme & Logan after ice cream.

The famous Merlion Park.

Dad attemping to hold up Marina Bay Sands.
So strong!

My pictures got out of order... sorry not going to fix...
Back to the Art of the Brick

I think this little boy has stolen his Papas heart!

Logan thinking his Mom is crazy for posing.

Such a fun day with such interesting art work!
