Singapore here we come.... The Beginning

How did we get on this journey you may ask, if you know us well you know this opportunity for us to go to Singapore and Australia has been there for a while and the Lord's continuous answer has been-- WAIT.
Patience has been key in this journey and waiting for His timing and not our own. Thank you Lord for these lessons, although hard and not exactly always what WE want at that time I pray it is ingrained in our hearts and we will always remember to seek your face and will for our lives, especially in the waiting of the unknown.

I will forever remember the day JD told me he got the position on the team in Singapore.  We had just talked the night before about being at peace with staying that maybe our time in Tyler was not done yet. We went to bed at peace that night and Singapore floated off into the back of our minds.  JD called the next day and asked if we wanted to meet for lunch at Chick-fil-a.  Although not unusual, his voice sounded although he was upset, unsure, or holding something in .  I even told my friend I was with that JD sounded strange. We met for lunch and as we sat down he made the comment, "Well you better get your fill of Chick-fil-a now, I don't think they have it in Singapore." It took me a moment to take that in. It was a mixture of shock, rejoicing, planning, shock, questions, and some more shock. It was from that point that our journey began...

In the weeks to come we had a garage sale, shared with friends, explained our BIG ADVENTURE to the kids, sold our house- 10 days!!, found housing for our pups, Filled 2 storage units, sold one car, put another on the market, and packed for our BIG adventure.

The movers came and packed us up.  That was an experience in itself, but as everything has gone the Lord provided and we got packed up!

Before we left Tyler on Wednesday we had to catch breakfast our a favorite spot- 4 Way Cafe!

Of course after a lot of tears that morning- all good tears, we needed a photo-op!
The boys and I in front...

JD & the boys in front.
We ordered pretty much the whole front of the menu to make sure we got to try everything and stuff ourselves at the same time! We ended the meal with Flint Chocolate pie--- to DIE for!

On Tuesday when I picked Logan up from school his teacher Mrs. DeeDee had made him a Memory book. There was a page for each month with an art made by Logan with his hand and then pictures of Logan & his class.

The back page looked like this, and cue tears.
Such a sweet, sweet memory for Logan and for me!
He loved his school and his friends and teacher!

Then it was time to shove, I mean pack the rest of our things in our storage unit.
I felt like we were on storage wars where if someone were to open our unit it would look like one on that show.

Our last stop for see-ya-laters, was a date to Chuys in Dallas with some more of our favorite people, the Gentry's!
We ate dinner all together and then Amy & I planned to go to Wicked that night at Fair Park!

Our sweet kiddos! They adore each other!

Me and the BFF.
What a treat it was to spend time with this lady and get to see this show which I have wanted to see FOREVER!
It did not disappoint!

Fair Park theater- WICKED.

Our farwells were SO hard. I have to say the thing we will miss most about Tyler are the people who have touched our hearts the past 5 years there. We have so many friendships that we will never forget! The Lord has confirmed and blessed this journey thus far and as our new Blog Title says, "Where you will go, I will go..." Ruth 1:16. Father we choose to obey, we choose to follow where you call us. Even when that means waiting...

  1. A family from my hometown has lived in Sinagpore for the past 4 years and she has written a blog ever since living there. They are moving back in June to Houston but I'm sure her blog would be very helpful. It is:
